The Fresco
Pergola-Style Patio Cover with Translucent Roof Panels
The Fresco polycarbonate patio cover provides a pergola-style roof that allows some light to pass through while keeping the heat out. The Fresco was born from the simple style of the Aria pergola. Then we custom designed a system to fasten the industry’s best standing-seam, infrared rejecting panels atop it. This winning combination allows light to brighten your patio space while protecting it from the elements year-round.
Why You’ll Love the Fresco Patio Cover
The Fresco Patio Cover was designed with one simple goal in mind: to provide your friends and family an architecturally beautiful space to enjoy the great outdoors while keeping the sometimes not-so-great weather at bay.
Aircraft grade powder-coated extruded aluminum can stand the test of time while remaining beautiful and requiring little to no maintenance. High carbon steel and nylon headed fasteners withstand the worst nature can throw at them, and automotive grade nylon covers and caps create a smooth and complete appearance designed to live in the sun.
Fresco Polycarbonate Panels include five unique air chambers, nearly once inch thick. Extruded polycarbonate with an infrared rejecting layer of reflective insulation make the Fresco panels the industry’s finest solution to a translucent patio. Using standing seam connections means that much like a standing seam metal roof, your panel cannot leak in the seams, so not only do you have a cool and comfy bright patio space, but it is one that locks out the weather.
Designed and engineered for the extremes of Miami-Dade county wind zone, Colorado snow loads, and Texas summer sun. You can build a Renaissance Patio anywhere in the country with confidence. Our network of independent installers know the local codes and will custom design a space to fit the local weather and building code requirements.
You dream of a place to retreat from the world, and we want to make that dream come true. All Renaissance Patios are designed to be built quickly and affordably, this is only possible due to smart design and efficient manufacturing. The use of modern materials means you spend time enjoying your patio, not painting, staining, washing, and maintaining it.
Style Meets Strength
Keeping your patio light, bright, airy, and dry is now possible, thanks to the Fresco Patio Cover. Incorporating decorative sculpted posts, header, trusses, and truss ends, along with a translucent pearl polycarbonate roofing system means your patio can have 70% of the suns light pass right through — while keeping out the rain and reducing heat transfer by up to 30%. The Fresco Patio Cover was designed to look like a traditional wood pergola, but instead of letting the rain in, we incorporated a semi-clear roof normally reserved for commercial construction projects due to its high strength, long lifespan, and rainproof design.
The Fresco Options
Want to increase the appeal and comfort of your patio space? Well, you’re in luck, as we have plenty of options, from fully enclosed glass walls to create the perfect three-season sunroom, to screen walls, to custom decorative add-ons and accessories.
Freestanding or attached? The Fresco is designed to be either attached to your home for the ultimate patio space, or freestanding in your backyard, like a gazebo, to create an entirely new area to enjoy.
Framing makes the difference when keeping bugs at bay. You can use our “Flush Truss” framing method, where the trusses terminate into the main beam rather than sitting on top of it. This creates an ultramodern look, permits the structure to be screened in to repel bug attacks, and offers a stronger design that can even accommodate glass sunroom walls.
Now or Later? As with all Renaissance Patio systems, you can install Fresco now and add screen walls any time in the future. Let your local independent installer know and they will design a space to accommodate your future needs.
The Pros and Cons of the Fresco Patio Cover
Everything in life has its ups and downs, pros and cons, and the Fresco is no exception.
PROS
- Beautiful pergola-style structure with stunning exposed-beam construction
- Translucent, heat-rejecting, standing-seam, polycarbonate roofing system to allow light through and keep the rain out
- Low-maintenance materials. Spend less time working and more time enjoying
- High-quality powder coat finish gives Fresco great looks for life
CHALLENGES
- Compared to a fully insulated solid roofing system, the Fresco does allow a bit more heat to pass through – about 25 percent more than our Classico model.
- Leaves are not Fresco’s friends. Leaves cannot remain on the patio cover for long, as they will stain the polycarbonate. If you have a tree-covered yard, a solid roof structure may be the better choice.
